When you are installing LCD TV mounts, it can seem as simple as putting a photo frame in place on a wall. But the fact is that things are harder than they seem. But with a bit of information and caution, you too can do that by yourself. This article will give you an insight on the most important guidelines.
Pick the wall
The first step is to decide on which wall the piece will be. Do you want to place the LCD in the living room or in the bedroom? Look around and see what options you have and pick a wall. After that, you have to carefully select the section of the wall that is going to host the screen. Keep in mind that you will have to use metal frames or wooden beams to support the LCD. Do not do that without the proper studs because the screen may fall down. Use a stud finder to see which portion of the wall can better sustain the screen. Also make sure the elements of the screen are perfectly fitted into the wall so that accidents do not happen. For the metal frames use high quality bolts.
The height
After all that you need to figure out the height at which you will place the TV. Usually, the best way is to set it at a 180 degree angle between the TV and your eyes. Plus, the mounts will give you freedom of maneuverability. You can tilter the screen if it does not fit your needs.
Drill the holes
The final step is to make drilling spots on the walls. Use pencil markings. Measure the height from the floor to the wall mark. Make sure you keep the same distance from the floor to each point.
These are some of the guidelines you need to follow to get a good installation.
